"It was a hot sultry morning in the desert; the sun had crested over the horizon and heat began to lick the summer sand. It was like any other morning in the painted desert, but the feel of something special was in the air. You could hear it in the birds and the insects, and smell it on the gentle breeze; it was destiny coercing you to lend your senses as history was about to be made." This story is a special christmas gift from me to you, and is an epic tale of the story of the infant Sea-Eagle, known originally as 'Segil.' From birth to his ascension, he is truly one of the most magnificent creatures to behold. Now his tale shall be told in this special holiday edition of Skipball Lore. UPDATE: The Legend Of Segil is here! Check it out under "Skipball Lore."

As it is out here in Arizona, the days are hot and the nights are especially cold. The folks out here in the great sun state have been quite interested, yet quite reserved about the whole sport of skipball. They have asked many questions, such as: What is this zany east coast sport you are trying to peddle to us? Why would anyone play this silly game? Who the hell are you, and why do you play this sport, year after year? They have been very inquisitive, yet, at the same time, very reluctant to delve into the sport that is skipball.

Can you actually play skipball outside of the isolated pool environment, say in a lake or the ocean? I'd say so, and so would Tom Burdett. He is actually playing skipball on Lake Champlain up in Vermont, believe it or not. How is this possible?
How could someone play skipball on a lake, or even the ocean? Well, it is quite simple. You have to set up your own boundaries using ropes, stakes, or some other sort of configuration which would allow for the creation of a rectangular play area. The entire wave situation would be quite interesting, as the waves could be much more extreme than in a pool situation. Further reading: To read Tom's post: click here. That's right, I am in the process of designing shirts for skipball. Below are the three preliminary designs, let me know how you feel about them. Send me an email, a message, or write a comment on this story. Let me know your size if you want a shirt, they'll cost around $18 bucks each. They're made from a very nice heavy cotton that's preshrunk and the design is dyed into the shirt (no iron on crap here). Well anyways, below is the design, let me know what you think! NOTE: Design #2 will be about $3-4 more expensive than #1 because of the red color. DESIGN #1
DESIGN #2
DESIGN #3
Again, let me know how you feel about the different designs, as only one will be selected! Be sure to vote in the poll (on the right hand side of the screen) to cast your vote on the design!
